Counseling and mental health coaching are effective means of finding relief from stress-related difficulties.  These services are now safe and imminently available during this age of social distancing via teletherapy sessions.

I am an experienced Telemental Health Practitioner and offer individual therapy and mental health coaching using a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform.  You can expect the same degree of attunement, skill and creative engagement from me in the digital platform as you would in our in-person office sessions.
Teletherapy sessions protect your privacy and provide the same level of interaction as traditional in-person therapy sessions. I use the HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform, GoToMeeting.

Teletherapy with me for Adults and Adolescents:

My work online with clients does differ from in-person therapy and coaching sessions in some respects, but retains the depth and transformative impact that come from the shared, sustained intention to heal and promote well-being. Our engagement during teletherapy sessions includes all of the activities of in-person sessions—talking, movement activities, sensing, focusing, and, when appropriate the development of behavioral plans or somatic experiencing specific skill building exercises. Similar to working in-person, the development of a safely connected therapeutic relationship is central to the healing potential of therapy and coaching conducted online. Working remotely, I provide the same qualities of compassionate presence, clinical skill, and discerning attention to both verbal and non-verbal phenomenon as I do in person.

How can we set ourselves up for a successful and smooth teletherapy experience? Here are some helpful tips we can follow:

1. Let’s each find a private space where we feel comfortable.  I’ll be in my office and invite you to find a space not likely to be disrupted and within which you feel safe.

2. If possible, let’s both plan on staying in the same space during our session, rather than moving around during the session.

3. I like to wear headphones to increase privacy and sound quality; you might as well if you feel comfortable.

4. Computers are best! They are the most stable and provide the best optics, but if you need to use your phone or tablet, please find a way to secure it during the session so that your hands are free.

5. If you’re sharing space with others, think about placing an ambient sound machine—either a device with a White Noise app or noise machine--just outside the door to promote sound privacy.
